All seems to have gone well (3rd time trying the install btw) and then, I launch X-Win server and right click the icon thinking I'll get my xterm in a jiffy - and .... no "Applications" submenu. *ds!
Google : installed cygwin X-server but don't see a way to launch xterm : nothing useful
Anyhow, it ain't that bad in the end - see... these geniuses never took a basic marketing course which would have told them something about taking care of the end user. Install any software you use at work - or upgrade - what's the first thing you get - release notes - see what's changed, etc...
In this case, there's a new icon with a much richer feature set (to my novice eyes anyway).. and there you have the usual suspects.
